Ohio Players – climax

Ohio Players climax foldout

Another great erotic record-artwork by 70’s funkband Ohio Players. This 1974 album (Climax) is actually a compilation album but it contains some new songs as well. The fold-out cover illustrates the nature of their music very well: tempting, sultry, even a bit raunchy, and with a dark edge. This is real passion, till death do us part…

Salient detail: it was said that the hidden clue (the woman stabbing the man she embraces in the back), which is revealed when one folds the cover open, is done by the band’s record-company (Westbound) as to illustrate the band’s betrayal for moving to a major record-label (Mercury). But this story has never been confirmed.
