The Kinks – face to face

face to face pic disc

For a long time I knew The Kinks primarily from the r&b infused mersey-beat songs of their debut and was less familiar with their later output.
Untill I came across this beautiful picture disc that I bought at a record fair in my hometown for a very reasonable price (more a `I could have bought a bag of candy instead’ kind of price).
I did not regret it, this turned out to be one hell of a perfect popalbum, you couldn’t get it better at the time I guess.

Apart from the music that is actually much more interesting than their previous work, it is also a sort of concept album that deals with social issues of the Brittish 60’s.
